Wordsworth live!
It is hard for me to point out one special highlight of the Liverpool trip. This excursion exceeded all my
expectations. There was a great variety of cultural events, sightseeing, having
fun and getting in touch with many interesting persons, excursioners as well as
“Liverpudlians”.
For all that, there was one trip that
surprised me in a really positive way. It was the day at the Lake
District. The guided tour through William Wordsworth’s House and
the nearby museum I found pretty interesting, because I had attended a course
on Victorian Literature during the semester and we also talked about this great
poet. The hike afterwards was fantastic and very impressive. The landscape was
so beautiful with all its hills, the extensive grassland and the great lake
in-between. While walking through this countryside you could feel what William
Wordsworth meant in/by his poems.
Altogether I very much enjoyed the excursion that combined so many interesting and funny
things. I had a great time with all the nice people I met there.
Thanks for that!
